We've Moved!

The big day was Tuesday and we are settling in.  Here is our week in review.

Closing just about didn't happen.  But luckily, all of the pieces fell into place within the last 24 hours, including the sod.  We have a HUGE yard.

The movers came Tuesday morning.  Owen and Olivia stayed home from school long enough to see the trucks (yes, 2 trucks!).

I was worried they wouldn't want to go to school for the day, but they were excited to go and tell all of their friends about the movers.

Unloading around 3PM.  We had a perfect weather all day long.
And Gerber Moving - AMAZING.  Highly recommend them.

We have met tons of kids already!  There is only one other house complete on our cul de sac and it has 2 little girls.  We have other little ones right behind us. We are loving it!  Can't wait to see how the cul de sac fills with families in the next 6 months or so (it's all spec homes, so they are all about done)

Summer 2013

So first off, if you were waiting anxiously on a status update for my ankle- it healed. It took a long time, but I can walk again without a big metal boot. Most of the time I spent in a boot, nearly unable to walk, I was also packing up our house so we could sell it. After a few trips to the dump and several trips to our shiny new storage unit and countless hours cleaning and organizing and rearranging furniture- we put this in our yard.

After three or four days of being clean and tidy for showings, we received and accepted an offer. Then it was time for the fun part, finding a house. We looked and looked and looked. We finally found it.

The kitchen.

The living room.

The play room.

The front door.

We had to tell Owen that the front loader isn't included in the purchase price.

It's Broken

So, Justin did this.  He made it through a week of mountain biking in the Rocky Mountains and came down to the flat lands and then broke his ankle mountain biking.  He's calling this payback for when I had my gallbladder removed.

He broke it on Wednesday, and when I picked the kids up from school, I told them Daddy hurt his leg and was wearing a big boot.

Owen's response: "Is Daddy wearing my tractor boots?  I don't want him to wear my boots".

And later that evening, when Justin was holed up on the couch Olivia said:
"Daddy can't eat dinner because he can't walk upstairs"

And Owen later..
"Walk slowly, Daddy.  That's what I do when I have an owie".

So, here's to a few weeks of working around crutches and a walking boot.
