Fresh Beat Band Live!

Last night was the Fresh Beat Band concert.  It was at the Midland downtown, which was awesome. 

Funny things about a toddler concert:
1.  It was at 5PM, which was perfect
2.  It lasted about an hour, also perfect
3.  Most adults at the concert were drinking alcohol
4.  I was just as exhausted as the kids when we get home

I waited to tell the kids until after nap.  I was hoping for two super-excited, jumping up and down toddlers.  Instead, Owen was in the middle of a tantrum and I hoped the concert announcement would help him bounce out of it.  It didn't.  Olivia was as excited as she could be while Owen lay at her feet screaming.  By the time we got in the car, they were both very excited! 

We picked up Mimi and went to Winsteads for a little treat.

My iPhone took terrible pictures during the show, but here are a few semi-terrible ones from before.

Owen LOVED the show.  He cheered and clapped and bounced.  No dancing or singing, but still loved it.  Olivia was very serious - taking it all in.  When we walked out of the theater, and got out of the crowds, she said "Wow, Mommy, that really was a great concert!".  It's amazing to see how differently they react to things. 

As the Beats would say "It's been a great day! A super way, to spend some time together!"

Yep, I just quoted a toddler song.  I have two three-year-olds - get over it.
