Game night

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I know we did. Although it was very busy, at least for a preggo and her husband.

Friday Lindsay wasn't feeling well. She blames lack of meat due to Catholicism. I agreed. But by Saturday morning she was doing well again.

Saturday we watched the KU game only to be disappointed. I guess you can't win 'em all. At least we had wholesome fun to look forward to.

Nick and Catherine invited us over for dinner and games. We brought a salad aimed at imitating Houlihan's. I think we came close. Nick made up a pot of vegetarian chili. And the Maysent's brought brought brownie sundaes. Quite the sweet feast.

Catherine and Lindsay mocking my bump pictures. And no, neither are sporting a real baby bump.

After dinner we broke out Trivial Pursuit, which we dominated until 10pm and the twins decided it was time to go. Quite frankly I'm surprised they lasted that long. Lindsay's usual bed time is shortly after eating dinner.

Sunday I got the urge to clean. This only happens about once a month, so when it comes you've got to grab hold of it and see where it goes. It went from the kitchen to the living room right out the door into the garage. I think we can now fit both cars in with enough room along the sides to lug around two car seats. Over the last week or so I'd been testing out car seat arrangements in the Jeep, and barely squeezing through the garage. So at least that's out of the way.

We also made it out to buy letters for the nursery. I hope to get those put up this week. I'll definitely post a pic when that's finished.

Looking back at what I've just written, it seems like this might come across as a very boring weekend. It might have been. But I'm guessing it's one of the few easy weekends we have left. The pregnancy seems to be moving so quickly. Lindsay's bladder might disagree.

On a side note, I threw together a last minute ski trip. I'm heading out to Breckenridge on Thursday. I figured I'd get in one last spurt of Justin time. So if you're in KC, I'm sure Lindsay would love some company this weekend. And on the plus side, you don't even have to put up with me possibly tagging along.

Have a great week.

Doctor appt #1243235

We went to the doctor yesterday, for the millionth time. Everything is continuing to go well. Our suspicions that the belly is growing dramatically were confirmed. It now measures 34 centimeters up from 27 two weeks ago. This would explain the constant itching Lindsay is dealing with. The doctor almost alarmed us when Lindsay mentioned the itching. I guess if you're itchy all over, this is a bad thing, but just the belly is normal, because it's growing so fast. (So if you notice Lindsay itching elsewhere, then we've got a problem.) We've now moved into the realm of appointments every week. There are so many to schedule, the receptionist didn't even have time to schedule them all while we waited. We gave her our preferred times, and she was going to work on it through the day. I believe there were about 20 she had to schedule.

Really no other surprises at the latest appointment. We are still finding places for all the great gifts from the shower. Thanks again for all the great gifts. We're glad we have so many great people in our lives.

Shower Pictures

Justin posted a great video, but I have added some pictures below! We did have an amazing shower on Saturday with some great family and friends. Owen and Olivia are very thankful for all of their gifts!

Yes, that's right, the babies names are going to be Owen and Olivia! Middle names are still to come, but we are excited to go ahead and tell everyone their first names!

I am now 26 weeks and starting to get a little more uncomfortable. By the end of the day, my bed is my best friend! I feel like I spend most of my weekends there too! We do try and get a lot done on the weekends, and this weekend we organized the nursery, put together a stroller, and bought the car seats (thanks to gift cards)! It felt great to get the car seats - now the babies will be able to come home from the hospital!

Shower day

Lindsay konked out about 7:30 after we ate.  The shower is of course the reason she nodded off so early.

Hope you enjoy the video, just some of the highlights from the very end.

We also want to thank everyone very much for all of the great gifts. We went out and bought both car seats with the gift cards we got at the shower.

Kicks

So I work strange hours.  I usually don't get home from work until about 11pm every night. I try to go to bed quietly so I don't wake up my pregnant wife, but I rarely succeed.  Last night I woke up everybody. The twins were still until about 10 minutes after I turned off the TV.  After that though, it was either a wrestling match or some sort of Tai Kwan Do exhibition.

Today Lindsay has the day off to get ready for shower number 2 tomorrow.  I know she's very excited to see everyone tomorrow.

Also, my new video camera is supposed to arrive today, so look out for some video posts shortly.

Love Day

While we aren't much of a lovey dovey couple, we did use this weekend as an excuse to have a nice date night. It was actually my perfect idea of a date night - early dinner at Garozzo's, back home and in PJ's in time to watch the KU Basketball game at 7. I even stayed awake through the entire game!

We also finished another nursery to-do by building some shelves in the cubby area behind the door of the nursery (see the picture to explain, it sounds confusing). With just a small closet in the room, I'm excited to have a place to store extra diapers, toys, etc. We continue to add to the collection of diapers (all sizes) as we find good deals!

We also celebrated Valentine's again this evening with regular Sunday dinner at my parents house. Mimi continues to spoil these babies with clothes! We were also celebrating that Kelsey and Justin have sold their house and bought a new one since last week! Pending inspections etc, moving day is in just under a month and we are looking forward to seeing it!

Happy Valentines Day to everyone! Have a great week!

Baby Shower #1

We had an fantastic weekend because it was my first baby shower! This shower was hosted by 3 of my Chi O girls, and was amazing! I am so lucky to have a great group of girl friends in KC, and I can't wait for more of them to have babies! Plus, we also had great friends in town from Colorado for the weekend. This may be the first year in awhile that we don't make it out to Colorado, so it was great to see them. These babies are so blessed with all of the gifts they have received. I feel like it gets more real each week! Not the greatest pics of me, but hey, it's what I have:

At least those pictures give you a good picture of my growing belly! Also proud to say I parked in my first "reserverd for expectant mothers" parking spot this weekend. Justin took a picture, of course, to preserve the memory! I suppose this is why Best Buy got our business that day....

We had another ultrasound last week and everything looks great! The babies are 1 lb 6 oz and 1 lb 7 oz (we don't remember which one is which). It is getting pretty crowded in there, so it's much harder for me to tell who is kicking me!
Thanks for reading!
