9 hours!

The babies slept 9 hours last night! Yay! I gave them binkies about 10 times, but this is major progress. I only hope it wasn't a one night occurrence! We have been so busy the last few weekends, and we are busy the next few weekends, so we really enjoyed a weekend at home as a family.

Lola and the Babies

Lola gets very excited when the babies come to her house, but not for the reasons you think. She absolutely loves their car seats. They are her favorite toy right now, and they keep her entertained for hours (and us too, since we have to help buckle and unbuckle her dolls). I'll try to get my hands on a picture from last night where Olivia is napping on the floor surrounded by all of Lola's dolls.

But clearly Lola does notice the babies because here are a few interesting tidbits from the world of Lola.

When Kelsey went to pick up Lola from daycare last week, Dianne(the babysitter) says "Owen must be crying a lot recently, Lola talks about "Owie crying" all the time!"

Last night, I look over and Lola is trying to pick up Olivia from the floor. And she's saying repeatedly "Owivia crying. I pick up". She did the same for Owen later in the evening. Apparently she is ready to babysit already! Clearly we need to watch her very closely!

Long Distance Friends

The Jefferies family was in town from Colorado this week - and we were thrilled to finally meet each other's new babies! Alia is a few months older than Owen and Olivia, but I am sure they will be great long distance friends!

Today, Owen and Olivia were so excited to receive these personalized binkies from another long distance friend, Clive Salava. We hope to meet Clive soon, but West Virginia is pretty far away!

Attention Baby Lovers

I have been working with the babies on bedtime and we are successful about 50% of the time (success = both babies fed and asleep in bed by 9:30). Thanks to my parents, I usually have help in the evenings to at least get the bedtime routine started.

Next week, we have a bit of a crazy week(in preparation for Aunt Erica's wedding) and my parents are out of town. I am looking for anyone that may want to come hold babies with me (not by yourself!) in the evening on Mon, Tues or Wed. I provide dinner (probably takeout, but hey, it's dinner) and babies (although I cannot guarantee happy ones). I can promise that I won't make you watch the Tour de France, unless you choose to do so! And, you are absolutely not required to stay until the babies go to bed! Any help is a blessing!

I know it's been a long long time since I've posted. If you take a look at Lindsay's 24hr post, you'll know why.  For the fourth we went to the Molzer's lake house to celebrate being independent.  We also wheeled the twins to their first 4th of July parade in Lenexa.  If you've ever been to this parade, you'll know that we are still trying to peel various candidate's campaign stickers off our children, obnoxious.  Besides all this American excitement, not too much going on.  Hope everyone had a good weekend.
