In preparation for the 2026 and/or 2030 Olympic Winter Games, Owen and Olivia took a ski lesson. Ok, ski lesson is a bit strong. It was mostly shuffling on snow, there just happened to be skis involved. They both got really shy when their instructors had the audacity to say hello to them. It took about 10 minutes to warm up to the idea that they couldn't ski and cling to my leg constantly. I'm not sure how to stop that, but at some point they're going to have to learn that mom and dad won't leave them forever. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
1st step was boot rental. The smallest size they had was a 10, which seemed to work for both. After the 25 yard walk from the rental shop to the snow, both Owen and Olivia complained that their feet hurt.
This was about 15 minutes in. Owen was pretty good at not falling down.
Olivia was a little more cautious. Her main problem was crossing her ski tips, then falling down.
Owen, probably not listening, it's what he does best.
Not every ski resort has a magic carpet, some just have carpet.
Shuffling back up the hill.
I'm glad we spent the afternoon at Snow Creek, even though they really only skied for maybe 45 minutes. (Don't even ask what the cost per minute of snow time was) Mostly we went to see how they'd do if we take them out to a real mountain and dump them in ski school for a day or two. I'm guessing they'll be fine.

Yes, bring them out here and we can all go skiing together!
